Help and contact
Silicio Chess Reader · Quick guide.
1. Open your first book
In “Library”, tap “Open PDF” and choose your document. A copy is saved automatically on the device. “Keep reading” resumes your book. You can search by title and open book details to organize or delete it. Commercial books are not included.
2. Read and move pieces
“Reading desk” combines book and board; “Book” and “Board” let you focus on either one. Drag the divider to share the available space. The full-screen button on the top bar hides system bars; Back exits full screen. Set up a position manually or import FEN or PGN. PDF diagrams are not recognized automatically.
3. Analyze with Stockfish
Tap “Stockfish” in the top bar. Analysis uses the book area while keeping the board visible. Moving a piece updates the evaluation. Tap a variation to follow it on its internal board; closing that board returns to the engine. Close the engine to return to the book. Continuous analysis uses battery: close it when finished.
4. Build your study notebook
Save positions with a question and your explanation to revisit them. Reviews let you attempt a solution before revealing the answer. You can link a study to its book and page. Your comments and variations remain on your device.
5. Keep a backup
Open the app menu and choose “Save complete backup”. Save it outside the app, in a folder or provider you control. There is no automatic synchronization. “Restore complete backup” transfers the library to another device. Read the confirmation before restoring and keep a current backup. Clearing app data or uninstalling deletes the private library.
If something goes wrong
Check available storage, update Android System WebView and try another file. Keep a backup before reinstalling or clearing data. Email gpacheco@ajedrezdesilicio.com with the app version, device model, Android version and steps to reproduce the problem. Attach only material you are entitled to share; never send passwords. Support is available in Spanish and English.
